Ever since I bought my car, I have been looking out for a FM transmitter. I did not want to spend money blindly on some unknown FM transmitter. Thus, I spent some enormous amount of time browsing through reviews, models and brands that were available in the market. I believe that the time and money were well spent considering the quality of sound that I get in the end.

Initially, my final decision was on Kensington Universal FM Transmitter. However, I was reluctant to make the order. It was 30% off on Amazon but I could not find any reviews on the internet except Amazon’s user reviews. The price was right at £17.99 with free delivery and the brand is well-known but it can only be connected to a MP3 player. One of the concerns that I have with FM transmitter that can only be connected to a MP3 player is that the sound quality might be affected by the audio cable connector. If the audio cable supplied were not able to connect properly, the sound would be distorted. Of course, I will not be expecting CD quality sound but at least something audible on my standard.

TeckNet FM29A was about £1 less than Kensington. No reviews could be found on the internet either except Amazon’s user reviews. As usual with all other reviews at Amazon, there will always be users complaining as well as complimenting. I read carefully on each review and finally decided on this FM transmitter. It can be connected to a MP3 player and also a SD card and a thumb drive. In addition, it comes with a remote control.

I have been searching for a portable laptop for a while. My opinion about laptops is always the same, it should be portable. If you make a comparison between a desktop and a laptop, the weight, dimensions, portability and performance are what separate the both. Erm…. performance? Not anymore.

Laptops have evolved rapidly and they can match the performance of a normal desktop computer. Maybe not as good as quad core processing but they are capable of gaming. In terms of portability, however, I feel that they are not portable enough considering you have to carry at least 3kg of weight on your shoulder. 3kg is the normal weight of a laptop excluding the bag and cables. Well, unless you are willing to spend around a thousand pounds or more to have a highly portable and good performance laptop.

To spend a thousand pounds on a laptop, I would rather divide that money and purchase a high performance desktop computer and an ultra portable netbook.

Processor
The current netbooks’ market offers limited selections in terms of performance. The most significant factor is the processor. As far as one can see, Intel Atom processor dominates the netbooks’ market. VIA has failed when HP chooses to use Intel Atom in its future netbook models.

However, the latest Samsung NC20 will use VIA Nano processor. AMD and ARM have similar interest in netbook market. Intel Celeron Mobile was used in early models of Asus EEE PC but now Asus is using Intel Atom processor in its future netbook models.

As said in My Ideas 4 You, the new Sony Ericsson C903 will arrive on Tuesday. Credit to 3 Mobile customer services for being able to offer such a good deal to ensure that existing customers stay with them. I was a bit reluctant to switch over to Virgin Mobile. After all, 3 Mobile offers free 300 minutes 3-to-3 calls, free Skype and free MSN. In addition, registering Virgin Mobile will mean that I have to call my bank to stop the direct debit connection to 3 Mobile and also setting up a new direct debit connection to Virgin Mobile. Now that my worries are over, let’s take a look at Sony Ericsson C903 specifications.
