I believe that most people have already known what The Sims does. You control a person, called Sims, in a simulation environment. You can choose from the hair style to the colour of the shoes. Each Sims has its own personality and characters. It will be up to you on how you control your Sims to interact with other Sims in the neighbourhood. On the other hand, the tasks or wish list will depend on the type of personality of your Sims whom you have chosen during the creation of your Sims. So, no more Mr. Nice Guy, if you like and create a Sims jerk, havocking the neighbourhood.
In The Sims 3, your Sims has a neighbourhood of around 15 other Sims. Your Sims has a house which you can upgrade and decorate it with new furniture. Of course, upgrading house and buying new furniture involve money. Hence, you will definitely have to get your Sims a job. Pay attention to your Sims boss and try to get your Sims to become a best mate with the boss to earn promotion. Promotion equals to better income at the end of the day.
There are quite a number of tutorials in The Sims 3 such as Cooking Tutorial, Gardening Tutorial, Fishing Tutorial, Repairing Tutorial and Cleaning Tutorial. On one occasion, my Sims was asked by its boss to slap another Sims for $90.
Gameplay
A few minutes into play, you will easily get the hang of it. Unfortunately, my first Sims was starved to death. I bought too things until it has no money to eat and I did not know that I could sell some furniture away. Rest in peace then. The second Sims I created in The Sims 3 was a jerk. A touch screen mobile phone such as Samsung Omnia makes The Sims 3 easier to play since your Sims goes anywhere you tapped. There are wishes that your Sims will come across as you play and if your Sims completed all the goals, you will unlock a surprise.
As the Sims that I control now is a jerk, I get bad wishes; sleeping in other Sims bed, make another Sims jealous as well as kick over a trash can. No doubt, all those actions will make other Sims to dislike your Sims. No more Mr. Nice Guy as I said.
Your Sims can also develop a romantic relationship with another Sims and even invite them to live together with your Sims. In addition, your Sims can also invite other Sims to come around for a chat or party. In fact, there are so many things that your Sims can do in the neighbourhood in The Sims 3.
Graphics
The Sims 3 is not the best out there but nice smooth play is more important. The graphics are acceptable and it is not as if the picture of a sofa is so distorted that it does not look like a sofa. However, I would have expected better graphics in The Sims 3 since it is a game created for Windows Mobile and not a java game. Even some java game has better graphics than The Sims 3.
Verdict
The Sims 3 is a nice little game that will keep you playing non-stop for hours. In my opinion, a mobile phone game is different from a portable console game. A mobile phone game should have a short gameplay such as Bejeweled, racing or puzzles. Strategy games are almost pointless to play on a mobile phone. I mean who would want hours of gaming on a mobile phone when a portable console performs better. In addition, the chances of playing a mobile phone game are when you have spare time or during your lunch time.
Back to The Sims 3. It is a great game, no doubt. Easy to play yet there are so many options and variations that you can get out of The Sims 3. The loading time is quick and you can save the game anytime you want.
Someday, sometime, you might be bored by The Sims 3 but definitely not in a day or two. Thus, by the time you get bored by The Sims 3, The Sims 4 will be out and available.
