I got this email from my friend, attached with a few pictures of Motorola hand wrist phone. It could be a prototype or a new model. I did a search on it but could not find relevant information. From the look of it, it has either a front camera or light sensor when closed. Another look at the buttons would have definitely prevented anyone from buying it. Why would anyone want or like something like a watch-phone?

Motorola is out of ideas and the market is now being shared by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG. Motorola will have to be more creative than this in order to attract customers and gain its mobile phone share in the market.

Switching on my Windows Mobile Samsung Omnia for the first time, I was quite impressed with the Today Screen. Samsung has made an effort to make things easy to use. Most of the settings were within button or buttons away but accessing programs was less impressive. There came an enhanced Today Screen available in the latest Samsung Omnia ROM after just a few days of me owning Samsung Omnia. More widgets were added and the overall performance of Today has increased dramatically.

However, Samsung Today is not for me. Windows Mobile original interface is worse.

SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 came to the rescue and it worked better, if not, one of the best. It is touch-friendly and users can customise the layout with widgets and shortcuts. With SPB Mobile Shell Skin application, users will have the ability to change the clock design, icons, weather icons as well as additional widgets.

SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 places itself into one of the startup applications. Essentially, it replaces the whole Windows Mobile interface while it still allows users to go back to Today screen with a touch of a button. SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 comes installed with several quick access screens and quick access buttons for programs, weather and contacts.

Quick Access Screens

  • Home Lifestyle Panel
  • Professional Panel
  • Contact Carousel Panel
  • Call Log Panel
  • Launcher Panel
  • Weather Panel

The Sims 3
I have my PSP for gaming purposes yet I am still hoping to find some good, if not great, portable games for my mobile. Asphalt 4: Elite Racing was the first game I played on my mobile but pretty soon, I moved to Bejeweled. And now, The Sims 3. At 400 X 240, it seems a little bit difficult to find the right games for Samsung Omnia. Most games suffer poor graphics on Samsung Omnia and I wonder if it has something to do with not having a dedicated graphic memory. On the other hand, HTC Diamond, which has always been compared to Samsung Omnia and has its own dedicated graphic memory, does not perform any better than Samsung Omnia.

I believe that most people have already known what The Sims does. You control a person, called Sims, in a simulation environment. You can choose from the hair style to the colour of the shoes. Each Sims has its own personality and characters. It will be up to you on how you control your Sims to interact with other Sims in the neighbourhood. On the other hand, the tasks or wish list will depend on the type of personality of your Sims whom you have chosen during the creation of your Sims. So, no more Mr. Nice Guy, if you like and create a Sims jerk, havocking the neighbourhood.
