The new computer has finally arrived. The casing looks great and impressive. I am less impressed by the fact that the DVD writer supplied is IDE. I am not bothered by it though as I have a Asus DVD Writer with SATA connectivity.

The Specification
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200
Motherboard: Asus P5KPL-AM
Memory: 2GB Corsair XMS-2
Harddisk: Hitachi 500GB
Casing: Antec 300
Power Supply: EZCool Tornado 700W
DVD: Unbranded DVD Writer

The Hardware
Everything looks as expected. There are plenty of room for upgrading and the 700W power supply will be more than enough for current configuration as well as adding an additional graphic card or more hard disks in the future.

The noise emitted from the computer is not something I anticipated. It looks like a server and certainly sounds like one too. In fact, my old computer was not as noisy as this one. However, the old computer could get hot easily and when it was hot, all sorts of noise came out as the power supply was overloaded. As for this new computer, the interior feels like a room with air-conditioning and the noise emitted is consistent throughout.

My Configuration
As I did not order any operating system, I installed Windows XP myself. Installation was a breeze. I partitioned the hard drive into three partitions; the first partition is naturally Windows XP and I will be installing Windows Vista Ultimate on the second partition while the third drive will be for data storage purposes.

DinoPC
It was great doing business with DinoPC. I was happy with the specifications and price. I would be more than happy if DinoPC could enable buyers to customise a computer from all the hardware available. If I were to build a similar computer by buying the hardware separately, the cost would be roughly the same. The fact that it took them two weeks to prepare the computer was a little bit too long. But it is all for the sake of quality assurance and I accept that.

The computer was delivered by Fedex which I believe it is a company that has reputation in delivering goods around the world. I was able to track my computer location as well as the people who signed for the item when it was delivered. Good!
