I am growing fond of Samsung products since I got my hands on Samsung netbook, the NC10. The brand Samsung impresses me more after I bought Samsung Omnia i900. Yesterday, I was browsing through Argos’ catalogue and looking at Samsung’s digital cameras. The prices are competitive and the functions are no less than other well known brands in the digital cameras’ world. Well, I am not looking forward to buying one since Mee already got a Canon Ixus65 but I will certainly consider Samsung’s digital cameras if we are going to buy a new digital camera.
Samsung Omnia i900 was on the market since June 2008 while Samsung Omnia HD i8910 was announced on February 2009 and will be available soon. At first, I was reluctant to buy Samsung Omnia i900 as I heard that Samsung Omnia HD i8910 will be a HD version (as mentioned in the name) and have a better touch screen. However, I decided to buy Samsung Omnia i900 as soon as I knew that Samsung Omnia HD i8910 will be running on Symbian OS. Furthermore, Samsung Omnia HD i8910 will be very expensive.
History with Symbian OS
I have had several phones with Symbian OS; before and now. Nokia 6630 and Nokia E61 are still with me while I traded in Sony Ericsson P990i for Samsung Omnia i900. Symbian OS version of UIQ in Sony Ericsson P990i was less impressive compared to Symbian OS S60 in Nokia 6630 and Nokia E61. There is not much useful software and the development seems to have stopped. Both Nokia 6630 and Nokia E61 were fun and customizable during their time but I grew tired eventually. Thus, I decided to make a change through by selecting a Windows Mobile Phone. As much as I hate about Windows, I still like Windows products.

Call Quality
Among the mobile phones I had used before, the reception was never good in my room. Normally, I would only get a bar of signal though it seemed to work fine when receiving and making calls. However, if I were to talk longer than 30 or 60 minutes, the call would normally disconnect itself. Sometime during the call duration, the person on the other side could hear not me correctly.
However, since using Samsung Omnia, I get full reception occasionally and the call quality is the best among the mobile phones I have used in my room before.
Battery
I do a lot of installation, browsing and changing of settings and the battery seems to be quite good. The battery indicator does not seem to show the correct charge as whenever I use the USB connection to transfer files, it will charge the mobile phone. Overall, I only need to charge my Samsung Omnia twice in a week.

Dell VS DinoPC
Dell computers are value for money but I just do not like the motherboard supplied and motherboard is one of the parts that have no other selections. On the other hand, DinoPC has offered a slightly better but basic motherboard. The prices from both Dell and DinoPC are more or less the same but the hardware and software are what separates them. For the price of slightly less than ÂŁ300, I get a Vista Home Edition license on a Dell PC. With DinoPC custom built computer at roughly the same price as Dell, I get a better power supply, better RAM, better casing and better motherboard in exchange for a Vista Home Edition license. I think it is worth the price.
