Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning…
Recently, I started spring cleaning my hard drive. Vista to be exact because I am only cleaning up Vista services, startup programs, temporary files, updating drivers, cleaning registry keys as well as defragmenting. If you had read some of my articles before, I strongly recommend CCleaner as the cleaning software. At the time I wrote the article, it did not offer the support for Vista but it is now.
I cleaned up bits and pieces of Vista left over by some old installations of programs and did a defragmentation using Power Defragmenter. I was quite keen on trying the Defraggler, defragmenter software created by the same company that creates CCleaner. In the end, I still used Power Defragmenter because I can run the program straight from the executable file without installing it.
The First Problem
After all these were accomplished, I updated the driver of my graphic card last weekend and also did a Windows Update last night. While the graphic card driver was updated, I proceeded to install several overclocking and tweaking software such as the Nvidia System Tools (which replaces the nTune) and RivaTuner. Initially, RivaTuner worked fine with the previous driver. However, soon after I installed Nvidia System Tools and the latest Nvidia driver, RivaTuner seemed to crash with the driver as well as the system tools.
The Frustration Part
To solve the problem, I uninstalled RivaTuner, Nvidia System Tools and the graphic card driver. Everything worked fine until I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 yesterday. The previous Vista Automated Activation Crack did not work the trick anymore and Vista was giving me 15 days to activate my copy of Vista. Yeah, I know, it is a pirated copy of Vista. Worry not because I will be getting a Vista license when I build my new computer. Patience needed.

However, before this, I have to get on and crack this copy of Vista again. I found out a lot of people were discussing about the Vista Loader and I downloaded version 3.0.0.1. It did not work. I thought I might as well reinstall Vista. Still, I was not satisfied and continued to look for more information.
In the end, I downloaded version 2 of Vista Loader and it did the trick. I was happy but not for long. The system was not stable and blue screen kept appearing. Sometimes, the system did not even POST. I started to wonder if it had something to do with the BIOS settings because I have tweaked the BIOS settings. Immediately, I loaded the default settings but still, Vista was not stable at all.
It was late at night and I was chatting with Mee. I could not imagine spending another day, fixing my computer and I told myself that I must get it working that very night.

A Happy Man
It was simple. I just went back to where I started the process, like the graphic card driver. As the Vista Loader version 2 runs from DOS, I booted into my copy of XP and ran the uninstallation. It worked and I managed to boot into Vista without any problems. However, the 15 days activation period was still there. I then used VOATK Tools to uninstall all the previous crack that may have installed and proceeded to reinstall Vista Loader version 2.
Fingers crossed and voila! Vista was cracked. I will check it tonight and hopefully, it will work as expected.
Final Thoughts
As far as I understood from my graphic card problem, it may have been caused by RivaTuner being not able to support the latest version of Nvidia GeForce driver. The purpose of installing RivaTuner was to overclock my graphic card. However, Nvidia System Tools does the trick as well and both RivaTuner and Nvidia System Tools do not really like each other. I guess, lesson learned.
As for Vista, I did not have much time to find other solutions but if you googled for Vista crack, all you will get is probably Vista Loader. There are many versions out there and you just have to get the right one for you. Erm… not only for you, but for your hardware too. Service Pack 2 is coming out soon and we will see if Vista Loader can still be the ultimate fighter to Microsoft Corporation.
CCleaner is definitely one of the greatest freeware that really cleans the system. And tonight, I will be following the Top Ten Vista Speed Tweaks by the Hot Fix.
