I had successfully installed iDeneb version 1.3 of Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 on my Samsung NC10. Right at the moment, I am thinking whether I should shrink the partition and reinstall it. The reason being Samsung NC10 has two equal partitions of 72GB each and Windows XP is not able to view Mac’s partition and it seems like I have lost the other partition. Luckily, Mac is able to view NTFS partition. So, I might not be changing it at the moment.

I followed the installation procedure from OSX86 Project Wiki and Testing Ground blog. Installation was simple and finished in about an hour. The USB ports are not working but the sound is working. I am not familiar with Mac OS and I guess that I need some time to learn and study it. Right now, I hope that I will be able to make the WiFi working.

I have also installed Google Chromium on my desktop PC as well as Samsung NC10. I have since abandoned Firefox Portable 3 which does not perform well. In fact, Firefox Portable 2 is much more stable. Anyway, I found my new browser love. When using Chromium on Samsung NC10, the viewable space increases and the browsing speed is incredible. Sadly, the touchpad’s scrolling function does not work well with Chromium. Well, I do not mind using the arrow keys or page up and page down keys.

I have burnt the ISO image of iDeneb v1.3 Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 into a DVD to test it on my Samsung NC10 netbook. Initially, I was puzzled when I browsed the files in the DVD. There are not more than 20 files and the space used is less than 600kb. I thought that I was doing something wrong but in the end, I restarted my PC and boot from the DVD. I felt relieved when I saw the Mac logo but it hung at startup. I believe that it is the incompatibility with my Nvidia graphic card which will have to be fixed through a patch. Well, I do not have to worry about it since I will install it on my netbook. Still, I am glad that the DVD works.

On the other hand, I am playing the PSP version of Need for Speed: Undercover now. My first impression about it was good as the car move like how it should be, unlike the previous PSP version of Need for Speed. At the same time, I tested the new version of RemoteJoy, called RemoteJoyLite which is a simplified version of RemoteJoy.

RemoteJoy is a program that transfers the PSP screen to computer using USB cable. However, Need for Speed: Undercover did not work when the screen was transferred to my netbook. In addition, I have also updated my PSP firmware to 5.00M33-2 from 3.90M33-4 because the latter version of firmware does not work with RemoteJoyLite.

I eagerly opened the box but was not surprised at all because I had watched videos of reviewers un-boxing their Samsung NC10. The package includes a white Samsung NC10, a 6-cell battery, DVDs, power adapter, a netbook pocket and some simple manuals.

The Unit
The battery seems to be heavier than the netbook itself. As reviewed, the netbook pocket is simple and enough to protect the netbook. The Samsung NC10 feels solid and compact. The LCD looks great and I am glad that the access to the memory module is not restricted by a warranty sticker.

Windows XP Home Edition
Windows XP runs smoothly. Samsung Recovery Solution III prompted when I switched on the netbook. It then offered to backup Windows XP to the hard disk so that I do not have to use the DVD if the system corrupts. Everything was done by clicking Next and Next and Next. Voila! Samsung NC10 with Windows XP Home Edition.
